Hi from OZ Larry,
About 30 years ago I was into control line models in a big way, but I
only ever got to fly on my own on our farm. As usually happens, other
things crept into my life & the models very much took a back seat. I
recently started to dig out my old planes to try & generate a bit of
interest from my 2 sons. In the process I discovered that a whole new
world of control line flying exists in the States which has all but
died out here in Australia. After deciding to purchase a couple of
Cox engines from Bernie & Xena at Cox International, their site led me
to Blackhawk models & I'm glad I discovered you guys. What a
fantastic range of simple & affordable models! My 12 year old decided
on a Lil' Bat combat wing because he thought that 2 for the price of 1
was a good deal. I remember spending months building models when I
was not much older than him and I could see that his patience probably
wouldn't stretch that far, so the simplicity & quickness of building
your kits kept him interested. The first model is finished after only
a few hours work & the second is well on the way, so we are both
looking forward to getting into the air. The only concern I had
during the building process was that the instructions were a little
brief & illustrations lacked detail. Having built before, I had no
trouble figuring things out, but I can see that the inexperienced
builder may have trouble.
Thanks for a great range of fun little 1/2 A models. I look forward
(???) to going in circles again after such a long break & hope to
eventually expanding the fleet, most likely with a Blackhawk model.
Attached is a picture of our son, Fletcher, proudly displaying the
first of his 2 Lil' Bats.
Cheers,
