The P-39 Airacobra was designed by the Bell aircraft company and features several innovative features including a mid mounted engine that was located behind the pilot and a cannon that fired through the prop hub.   Because the prop shaft passed under the cockpit, the pilot was in very cramped quarters.   Consequently, only shorter pilots found themselves flying this bird.   Although the Airacobra flew with the U.S. Army Air Corps, it is best known as the export fighter used successfully by the Russians against the Germans during their ill-fated invasion of the Soviet Union.   The Junior Ace model of this famous aircarft captures the Airacobra's sleek lines well.   This easy-to-build model will have you flying "tank busting" missions in no time at all!
