Firewall

The firewall is located at the front of the fuselage and provides a surface for mounting the engine.   Because a securely mounted engine is an important safety concern, the firewall is made from high strength plywood instead of the lighter balsa wood found in the rest of the kit.   This component must be installed with great care using epoxy glue for a solid bond.   The engine is mounted securely to the firewall using the screws provided in the kit.   The engine is mounted with a washer under each of the inboard screws to angle the engine toward the outside of the circle by a few degrees.   This causes the airccarft to pull toward the outside of the circle which maintains good line tension and positive control.
